Nueve veces nueve or 9v9 was started in 2015 by Florencia Castillo as estudio tinto and it is an on going Collection of genderless and lasting knitted pieces.
Flor was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1981. She studied Fashion design F.A.D.U (University of Architecture, design and Urbanism in Buenos Aires) and worked since student in the fashion industry in Buenos Aires, designing for children brands, as well in Chile as head designer from denim department in the retail industry.
She acquired her first knitting machine and started to learn by herself in since 2014. She built her actual identity finding joy in pattern and garments design in combination with knitting techniques. Her currently collection of knitted pieces are made in 100% alpaca wool that she sourced while living in South America. Since 2019 moved with her family to Bern where she continues with her work under the name 9V9 (nueve veces nueve). What most interests Flor is composition and color, as well the techniques involved in the process of building garments from one long strand of yarn.
