Washing

Merino’s natural qualities mean less washing is needed compared to synthetic fibers. For a quick refresh, air it out for an hour. When washing is necessary, here’s how to care for your merino:

Machine Wash (Max 40°C):

  1. Wash sweaters or wool accessories separately, inside out, and in a washing bag.
  2. Use mild wool detergent and, if desired, fabric softener for extra softness.
  3. Choose the wool program on your washing machine at 30C
  4. Important: Pay close attention to the spin cycle speed not to exceed 800.
  5. Dry flat, reshaping as needed, and avoid stretching or hanging the sleeves.

Hand Wash:

  1. Soak in lukewarm water (Max 40°C) with mild wool detergent in a bathtub or large container.
  2. Gently move the garment, avoiding rubbing.
  3. Rinse thoroughly, then gently squeeze out excess water without twisting.
  4. Reshape and roll in a towel for 30 minutes, then lay flat to dry.

Finishing:

  1. Steam iron on the wool setting (Max 148°C), ensuring steam is activated. Iron lightly and let cool before folding.
